The Chris Paul-less Clippers were pummeled by the Stephen Curry led Warriors 144-98, as Oracle Arena continues to be death trap for Doc Rivers lifeless starting line-up.
Without the services of their star point guard, LA has lost four of their last five, and halfway into the NBA season, it seems like the inconsistent Clippers are destined to be doomed once again.
Curry, playing with a sore left quad, exploded for 43 points, humiliating the Clippers with a half court hurl to end the second quarter.
Blake Griffin, in his second game back after missing 18 added 20 points, a mere drop in the bucket for his struggling 4th place Western Conference team.
So with Paul sidelined for six to eight weeks, rumors of Carmelo Anthony clad in Clipper clothing for Doc’s kid, J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford loom large by the upcoming February 23rd NBA trade deadline.
Melo may be a quality shooter, but what LA lacks is defense, and losing Redick, a better defender with offensive skills, would be a downgrade they can ill afford if they hope to get past the Warriors, Spurs and Rockets.
